On Monday 22 May, ASU members Cassie Towers, Tayla Theobald and Zoe Cleaver formally nominated to become ASU delegates at the Centre for Non-Violence.

As a member of the ASU, you are invited to participate in a vote.

Please provide any objections or support for these nominations by emailing ASU Organiser Tim Sullivan by close of business Wednesday 31 May.

Note: all three nominees can be elected delegates, so you don’t need to just choose one delegate.

If there is majority support for the nominations, Zoe, Tayla and Cassie will be declared elected as ASU Delegates.

What do delegates do?

ASU Delegates are the essential link between ASU members at each workplace and the broader union. Effective delegates can identify issues and provide information to officials of our union to make sure members’ rights and conditions are protected.

Delegates can provide representation, support and advice to members as well as build the union by providing information and raising awareness of union issues with staff. An ASU Delegate is your representative and is elected by you.

Talk to a colleague about the importance of union membership and ask them to join the ASU online at: https://www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
