Yesterday ASU organisers and YSAS Managers held a discussion mediated by a representative of the DHHS. Consultation occurred around the return to sites of YSAS staff who have been working from home during the COVID pandemic.

Before this meeting, YSAS has repeatedly stated that they did not intend to consult staff members on returning to work sites. The ASU believes that YSAS is required to consult under clause 9 of the YSAS enterprise agreement, so that you get all the details of their plan to return you to site and how your employer intends to keep you safe.

The outcome of the meeting was that YSAS will consult with you and provide you with paid time to provide feedback, ask questions and consider the impact that the change will have on your work and your life. See the email from DHHS attached.

This win came about because delegates and members like you spoke up when they felt they were not getting their entitlements.

The ASU strongly encourages you to keep an eye on your email inbox for an email from management so that you can give your thoughts and raise issues through the consultation process, once it begins.
