The ASU is shocked and concerned to read the newsletter from Council CEO Glenn Patterson advising of council intention to finalize these negotiations shortly.

We have only just recently recommenced these discussions towards the end of last year following the successful NO vote.

At the last enterprise agreement meeting, Council put forward the wages offer:

  • 2020/2021-1%- applicable from the date of in principle agreement
  • 2nd year-1.5%
  • 3rd and 4th year – The rate cap amount

We expressed immediately our dissatisfaction with this offer as it does not recognize the hard work from members over what has been an incredibly difficult period of time.

We raised that members recently voted down a pay offer of 1% and to see council not improve on this offer at all is a complete disregard of your views.

Not only is the wages offer substandard but the vast majority of ASU claims have been rejected. You can review councils position to these here. Further to this, we have not even commenced discussing the importance of these claims or the reasoning why they have been included in the log in detail.

We do have options available to us to get council to take your comments and concerns seriously.

Please come along to one of the following PAID meetings to discuss;

This meeting has been approved by council, so we hope to see you all there!
