COLONY 47 TO UNILATERALLY FREEZE 96 EMPLOYEES WAGES
Is this you? Or will you be next?

For years Colony 47 have paid above Award wages (the legal minimum) to attract and retain great people. Many providers in the sector recognise this and offer attractive conditions and secure (permanent) jobs through Enterprise Agreements.

Colony 47 MUST pass on the ASU won Equal Remuneration Order wage increases on 1 December 2020 as specified in Clause 17b) Colony 47 Enterprise Agreement 2017. Thanks to the efforts of union members these increases are funded in government contracts. The ASU will take the matter to the Fair Work Commission if necessary.

WHY NOW?
Colony 47 have not provided details of a financial need for this action. On the last publicly available information they ran a surplus of $257,000, had increased their funding by over $400,000 and held $1.3million in accumulated surpluses in the bank.

Wage freezes are cuts and they hurt workers and the communities in which they live, work and spend.
