We are thrilled to advise that the Fair Work Commission has handed down its outcome of the arbitration we attended on Wednesday 27 April, and we won.

Council must now do the following steps as part of the order handed down:

  1. the Council provide to affected employees and the ASU by 9 May 2022 various information items from our list
  2. the Council must allow affected employees and the ASU a period of until 23 May or 14 days after the date on which the information above is provided by the Council, to provide Council with a response.
  3. Any response, or an accurate summary thereof, must be provided to the Councillors before the Councillors make a final decision.

You can read the decision here.

Please keep the pressure on, you can do this by sharing the petition with your colleagues, family and friends.

Sign the petition now and let’s show the Boroondara City Council that we don’t want aged care to be privatised in our community.

We will keep you updated so please keep a lookout in your email inbox or mobile phone for future updates.

By encouraging your workmates to join the ASU we will have a stronger voice for workers at Boroondara City Council. It is easy for anyone who is not yet a member to join online at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
