Manningham Council ASU Log of Claims finalised

24April 2024

Better pay and conditions for Manningham Council workers

Enterprise bargaining has kicked off again. We have held meetings over the last couple of weeks to hear what you want in your next agreement. Our claims are designed to protect the things in life that matter – our jobs, income, families, community and health, safety and wellbeing.

Our claims include:

  • A three-year agreement

  • For each year of the agreement: $65 per week for employees in Bands 1-5D and 3.5% or the gazetted rate cap or CPI, whichever is higher for Bands 6-8. This includes indexation of allowances.

  • A retention payment for employees equivalent to two weeks' salary once they reach their end of Band.

  • Job security measures to fight for secure, quality, in house jobs from point of starting work at council to end of employment.

  • 20 weeks' pay for primary and secondary carer’s leave.

  • Option to work a four-day working week.

  • Protecting working from home rights in the agreement. Minimum 50% work / 50% home

  • Protecting workers from hazardous smoke, poor air quality & excessive heat and work including a work cut off at 35 degrees Celsius.

These are just a snapshot of our claims. You can read our full log of claims here.

We are stronger when we are united. Chat to a workmate who is not yet a member of our union about the importance of joining the ASU to getting a better deal in the enterprise agreement. It’s easy for anyone to join online at https://www.asuvictas.com.au/VICTAS/Join
