Geelong Community Gathering 30 June 2026
23 June 2026
We’re inviting you to stand with us at an important
Community Gathering in Geelong as we build momentum for fair pay and recognition for community sector workers.
Community Gathering
DATE: Tuesday 30 June 2026
TIME: 11:30am
LOCATION: Christine Couzens MLA Office - 95 Pakington St, Geelong West VIC
Why this event matters
This gathering is a key opportunity to strengthen our Skilled, Respected, Equal Campaign and rally community and political support for change.
On the day, we will:
- Meet with Chris Couzens MP (MLA for Geelong) to advocate for stronger political backing
- Engage directly with the local community about why this campaign matters
- Build visibility and momentum for our campaign
- Highlight the ASU Work Value Case, filed in the Fair Work Commission on 10 June 2026
What we’re fighting for
The Work Value Case is about ensuring wages reflect the real value of the work you do every day.
Community sector work has changed significantly:
- Supporting people with increasingly complex and high-risk needs
- Applying advanced skills and professional judgement
- Taking on greater responsibility and accountability
- Working under growing demand and pressure
But wages haven’t kept up.
This event is about making sure our voices are heard — by the community, and by decision-makers.
Join us
Let’s come together to show that community sector workers are skilled, respected, and deserve equal pay.
We encourage you to attend, bring a colleague, and help spread the word.
We look forward to seeing you there!
It pays to be union! We are stronger when we are united. Bring along a co-worker and ask them to join the ASU at
