East Gippsland Shire Council Log of Claims Survey

23 February 2024

Bargaining for a new Enterprise Agreement will be commencing shortly. As an ASU member, you are automatically represented by the ASU in this process. Please let us know your priorities by completing this short, confidential survey. These results will help the ASU bargaining group come up with a log of claims that are relevant to you at Council.

This is your chance to get new clauses into your Enterprise Agreement to address important issues and protect the things in life that matter – your jobs, income, families, community health, safety and wellbeing.

Local Government workers have been facing new challenges over recent times including rising living costs, an increase in extreme weather events and the global pandemic. There are also opportunities to improve conditions and accountability arising from the Gender Equality Act and the updated Local Government Act.

In addition, a recent VAGO report identified that 1 in 4 respondents to a survey of local government workers had experienced workplace sexual harassment in the previous year. Sexual Harassment in Local Government | Victorian Auditor-General's Office
