City of Whittlesea ASU wins and updates

24 April 2024

Lots going on in the Whittlesea ASU! Here are some updates:

Community Wellbeing Fight Continues: Members in Community Wellbeing have been fighting hard for a fair outcome in their directorate review. As the second consultation window closes, your feedback is crucial. Reach out to your organiser or the Member Contact Centre for assistance.

Uniformed Worker Allowance: Do you wear a uniform? Then get ready for some extra cash in your next pay! The uniformed worker allowance should be paid from the next pay run and should include backpay. Check your next payslip and reach out to us if your allowance isn’t there.

Depot Developments: Depot members have won themselves a depot consultative committee. Members met this week to discuss what they would raise at the committee, and to get on the front foot as Council prepares a service review of the depot.

Devices in Vehicles: Do you need to use mobile devices from a work vehicle, as part of your job? Help us keep you safe from fines by taking our survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DFLKPQS

Employee Consultative Committee: Your next staff consultative committee meeting is on 7 May. Got any agenda items you'd like to discuss? Contact a delegate or your organiser to have your two cents.

WE NEED DELEGATES! We have had four AMAZING ASU delegates leave City of Whittlesea in the last six months. Without these amazing advocates, union member voices are not being heard. Please consider stepping up to support your colleagues.

The ASU is by your side. Talk to a co-worker about the importance of union membership and ask them to join the ASU at https://www.asuvictas.com.au/VICTAS/Join
