Central Goldfields enterprise agreement - sign the petition today!
03 April 2024
The Central Goldfields enterprise agreement expires on 30 June 2024. ASU organisers Billy King and Zoe Edwards and ASU delegates are working on getting the best deal for ASU members.
Instead of re-negotiating a single enterprise agreement, we suggest a
multi-enterprise agreement covering several councils in regional Victoria.
This approach would allow for:
Taking co-ordinated industrial action across multiple sites if needed, in support of a better wage deal
Co-ordinate media coverage and highlight the problems that state government policies such as rate-capping are having on local government wages
Dedicate more resources to bargaining, including multiple organisers at the bargaining table
Workers in regional Victoria want:
Fair wage rises that keep pace with cost of living
Fair classification structures that reflect your skills and qualifications
Equal access to allowances such as on call/stand by pay
Support and pay for emergency services volunteers such as CFA and SES
Access to a sick leave pool to support workers who have run out of sick leave
A
multi-enterprise agreement can address these common issues, whilst also protecting hard fought local conditions negotiated in previous enterprise agreements.
The ASU is seeking your support to negotiate a multi-enterprise agreement to cover workers at Central Goldfields and Ararat City Council. It would set common wage increases across both councils and other common agreements, while preserving local conditions and existing local rates of pay. Central Goldfields will be setting the standard for the rest of rural and regional Victoria!
Other councils could later be ‘roped in’ to this agreement.
To proceed, we need a majority of Central Goldfields workers to support this. Please sign the attached petition and share with colleagues.
When workers are united, they win!
Sign and share the attached petition to demonstrate your support for winning better wages and conditions in rural Victoria! Petition responses will only be provided to the Fair Work Commission. They will not be provided to your employer.
