Boroondara City Council: ASU EBA update

What happened?  ASU met with the Boroondara management bargaining team and other unions and independent bargaining representatives today to hear their response to previously tabled Logs of Claims.   Management did not respond to all ASU claims and the ones they did respond to... well, read on and you'll get a pretty clear picture.  

The detail 
  • No to putting claims into your agreement regarding managing policy and legislation reforms. 
  • No to management of temp positions claims as labour hire companies pay rate is 'a matter for them'.  
  • No to changes to casual conversion. 
  • No to reviewing fixed term contracts. 
  • No to continuity of service throughout future transfer of business processes. 
  • No to improvements to the DASP.  
  • No to rights for unions (notice boards and email). 
  • No to unions being invited to present at new staff inductions. 
  • No to including the right to disconnect in the agreement. 
  • No to all employees being provided with a work email. 
  • No to claims for amendments to IFA’s. 
  • No to adding words regarding OHS hazards like smoke, heat into the agreement. 
  • No to adding rights around Covid leave. 
  • No to study assistance and accreditations. 
  • No to increasing accident make–up pay to 52 wks.  
  • No to five weeks of annual leave. 
  • No to changes to disciplinary procedures.  
  • No to transition into retirement clause. 
  • No to including WFH provisions in the agreement. 
  • No to sick leave bank process.
