The ASU has been made aware of serious issues at Mildura Rural City Council ranging from alleged bullying, rolling contracts, insecure employment and inequality of employment conditions.
ASU Lead Organiser, Mark Brady, has made many attempts to communicate with your CEO, the most recent being an email sent to the CEO seeking approval to hold paid meetings with ASU members.
The purpose of these meetings was to gather further proof of these issues and seek to resolve them and discuss ways to assist ASU members at Mildura Rural City Council.
Disappointingly, the CEO has denied any paid meetings and accused the ASU of ‘playing the man’. This response from your CEO was extremely disappointing and not in the spirit of Good Faith.
The ASU takes seriously the concerns raised about bullying, insecure work and inequity in workplace conditions and will always stand by our members side to support, advocate and assist.
So we ask that all members stand together by coming along to meet Lead Organiser Mark Brady in Mildura on Wednesday 18th or Thursday 19th March. There’ll be opportunities to meet with Mark, either during your lunch break or outside work hours.
We will provide full details of meeting times and venues next week.
By standing together, ASU members can force management to take these issues seriously.
