Feb 1 2012 was a momentous day for ASU members across Social and Community services. After a strong and united struggle, the ASU won the Equal Pay Case and campaign.
Celebrate the anniversary of the Equal Pay win at SASHS Sunshine!
DATE: Thursday 30 January
VENUE: Board Room, 6/147 Harvester Rd, Sunshine
With Feb 1 2020 fast approaching, it’s time to reflect, celebrate and remind ourselves of the significance of this historical win, to the membership, sector and very people this sector is here for.
You are all invited to a celebratory lunch to mark this moment in time and all say in one loud and proud voice… Equal Pay here to stay!!!
ASU officials will bring along lunch and provide an update on Equal Pay, as we enter the last year of the phased-in implementation. We’ll also provide a briefing on a recent threat to Equal Pay – the Morrison Federal Government’s lack of commitment to funding Equal Pay rates beyond 2020. This places jobs and services at high risk, with a potential annual funding shortfall of $550 million nationally.
We need to stand together again, to keep taking the sector forward, not backwards! And will provide an update on union member’s actions happening across the country to Save Equal Pay.
Please make contact with your active Delegates Marisol Salinas or Simon Eramo or Organiser Giancarlo (Chaz) Volpe on 0428 734 459 or email@example.com to confirm your attendance and if you have any dietary requirements. Look forward to see you all and sharing this important event with you all.
Now is the perfect time to ask a co-worker to stand with us to Save Equal Pay.
