The Fair Work Commission this week handed down their findings in relation to minimum wage increases across all modern awards and have increased award wages by 3.0% this year.
As many of our members would remember, the ASU negotiated your wage increases to take into consideration the increases awarded by the Fair Work Commission and to provide a wage increase equal to 3.5% or 0.5% above the increase in award wages, whichever is higher each year of the agreement. This has resulted in generous increases which have seen wages at Central Highlands Council increase in comparison to other local councils.
As a result of the Fair Work Commission decision, the final wage increase under the current enterprise agreement will be 3.5%. This will come into effect on the first full pay period in July this year.
Negotiations for a new enterprise agreement to replace the current one are set to start in just under twelve months’ time.
