The Enterprise Agreement (EA) voting period starts today! The vote is open Monday 2 – Friday 6 August.
This is your chance to tell Council that you are not happy with this substandard EA. Unfortunately, this final EA offer is not agreed on, as it does not meet the standards that you unanimously voted for at our recent member meetings.
That is why it is vital that you send a message to Council and Vote No!
While we have made some improvements, we still have some concerns that have not been addressed despite being very reasonable. These include:
- No inclusion of DOLLAR amount – despite a very conservative claim from members, who understand times are tough but want a fair offer.
- Reductions in KM – this agreement if voted through will reduced the amount you can claim back per KM down to 80cents from a current maximum of approximately $1.19.
- Lesser Conditions in way of OT and Public Holidays for Myuna Farm Employees – employees paid under this new appendix will have lower rates of OT and public holiday pay than the rest of council- is that fair?
- Reduction in Standby duties and On-Call – Standby allowance will reduce from 16 hours to 12 hours and OnCall payment currently paid to a minimum of 1 hour will be reduced down to the closest 15minutes.
Every vote counts. It’s really important to vote and clearly select the NO box. It’s also critical to talk to other staff in your area about why it is important that they vote No. We can’t turn this around without at least 50% of votes against the offer.
