About Growth Team

The more members the ASU has, the more able the union is to work powerfully for members. Many Australian and overseas studies show that the higher the level of membership, the better the outcomes that unions get.

There is still much potential to improve our strength to represent employees.  For examples, studies show that density levels above 80% deliver much better pay outcomes than lower levels of membership density. The ASU is focussing strongly on using various methods to improve membership levels.

One arm of our focus on recruitment will be the use of teams that concentrate only on growing the union via one-on-one recruitment focussed conversations.  This will be done by people who are called the ASU Growth Team.

The ASU Growth Team promote the benefits that new members get from signing up.

ASU Organisers of course continue to focus on the very important work of meeting with members and helping with membership issues, as well as the various campaigns they undertake.
