We Won't Wait Campaign wins

ASU We Won’t Wait campaigners took action throughout the 16 days of action to eliminate Violence Against Women and made an impact.

The We Won’t Wait photos & testimonial videos, lobbying in Canberra and petitions signed all contributed to meeting a key campaign milestone of gaining agreement to ten days of Family Violoence Leave under the National Employment Standards from the Greens and the ALP.

Thanks for all you imput, we know it was fun; now the real campaigning begins.

We cant wait and we won’t wait for a change of Government for this reform because we know that everyday someone’s job is on the line at what may be the lowest point of their lives, when they are feeling unsafe, desperate and vulnerable. We don’t need to convince Government of the extent of the problem; it iws well known thatFamily Violence is costing the Australian economy billions of dollars.

Late last year the ASU asked the Member for Bendigo and the Acting CEO of the Centre for Non Violence to to sign our Campaign pledge,  See the announcement here.

If you are in this to win it, let us know, as we’ll be seeking support from members to get this message to your MPs. Register your campaign support with the ASU via the Member Contact Centre info@asuvictas.om.au
