Citywide members say yes to industrial action

ASU members at Citywide Service Solutions began work bans on June 19 after 93 per cent of members voted in favour of industrial action in order to obtain fairer pay and conditions.

Members believe that Citywide's offer - which also aims to slash the sick pay, long service leave and redundancy pay of anyone who started after 1 July last year - isn’t good enough and have voted accordingly.

The ASU notified Citywide that four-hour stop works commence on Monday 19 June, with members stopping work at the start of their shift.

It has been made clear in the Fair Work Commission that Citywide will not change its offer unless it is forced to and a clear majority of members have made it clear that they intend to force the company to lift its game.
